Chinese New Year is just around the corner and everyone in my family's been busy Spring cleaning and doing a little refurnishing around the apartment. Mom got my sister and me new beds, sheets, curtains, clothes, shoes, jewellery, and other miscellaneous things...
Besides the annual traditional Chinese New Year hoo-ha, another cliché occasion is coming as well. Yes, it is the day when all lovers shriek at the blissful and sugar-coated "lovey dovey" things that their love does for them, and when florists and restaurants jack up their prices at ridiculous rates. Behold, Saint Valentine's Day or rather, Valentine's Day.
I've never had a date or came close to celebrating it before... A part of me knows that it's just another excuse for us women to be pampered by our man, but I would still want to do something with my boyfriend on that day. I picture my first Valentine's Day to be something simple like going home early for the dinner that I would be preparing. We would enjoy each other's company, cuddling in bed while watching DVDs... And, at the end of it; we’ll have a little hot and passionate something, whispering how much we love each other before dozing off in a blissful slumber together. That's doable right? Oh, and maybe he could surprise me with a bouquet of my favourite Champagne Roses. I’m a sucker for flowers. But, of course, this is how I picture everything to be like. Reality doesn't always go according to what we dream it to be.
Love,
Brenda.
